TORONTO – A fourth-quarter collapse sent the reeling Lakehead Thunderwolves to their seventh loss in eight outings

Leading by one heading into the final period, the Wolves on Saturday night were outscored 21-10 by the host Toronto Varsity Blues and went down to a 74-64 defeat, falling to 2-7 on the season

Bacarius Dinkins and Mor Menashe led the way offensively for Lakehead, scoring 18 and 17 points respectively.

Henry Tan was the only other LU player in double figures, collecting 11.

“Our inability to make some shots hurt us tonight. We play great defense at times and rebounded well, but our offense is struggling," coach Manny Furtado said in a release issued by the team.

Toronto’s Devin Johnson led all scorers with 28, adding 10 rebounds for the double-double.

The Wolves are in a four-way tie for the 12th and final OUA men’s basketball playoff spot with Western, York and Algoma, all of whom have four points this season.

Lakehead will host OUA Central leader Brock for a pair of games next weekend at the Thunderdome. Tip off Friday and Saturday night is 8 p.m.
