McCarville rebounds with win over Newfoundland

Northern Ontario foursome steals points in three straight rounds to get back into the win column.

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. -- After suffering a heartbreaking 8-7 loss to Manitoba on Monday night, Team McCarville was back in winning form on Tuesday morning.

Skip Krista McCarville shook off the defeat, a game that saw her team in front 6-2 at the break, and knocked off skip Stacie Curtis of Newfoundland and Labrador 6-3 in Draw 8 action at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

McCarville and teammates Sarah Potts, Ashley Sippala and Kendra Lilly stole points in the fourth, fifth and sixth ends to take a 4-0 lead, adding two in the eighth to jump in front 6-2.

The Northern Ontario team is 3-2, in a four-way tie for fourth spot in St. Catharines.

They take on British Columbia Marsha Mallett (0-5) on Tuesday night.
