Krista McCarville made easy work of a former Ontario champion on Tuesday night.

The Fort William Curling Club skip stole a five-ender in the seventh, rolling her to a 9-3 win over Ottawa's previously unbeaten Jen Hannna, the 2005 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts winner, in Draw 3 at the 2012 championship in Kenora.

McCarville (2-1), playing with Ashley Miharija, Sarah Lang and Liz Kingston, stole one in the second to grab a 2-0 lead, and was up 3-1 heading into the fifth when Hanna (2-1) scored a pair to even the match at three. McCarville went up one in the sixth, giving the hammer back to Hanna, but to no avail.

The win pushes the Thunder Bay rink into a five-way logjam in second place.

Thunder Bay's Marlo Dahl (1-2) gave up a single point in the 10th end to defending champion Rachel Homan and dropped a 7-6 decision.

In other Draw 3 action it was Cathy Auld defeating Alison Nimik 6-2 and Kathy Brown edging Laura Pickering 5-4. Both victors improved to 2-1. Nimik and Pickering are both winless at 0-3.
