SUDBURY – Team McCarville is 2-0 at the Northern Ontario Scotties, following a 5-3 win over Piper Crosier’s hometown Sudbury rink on Friday morning.

McCarville, the two-time defending provincial champion, scored one in the 10th with the hammer to put the match away and maintained top spot at the three-team event.

Her team, which includes lead Sarah Potts, second Ashley Sippala and third Kendra Lilly, took control of the Draw 3 game in the fifth end, scoring a deuce to break a 1-1 tie. Twice Croisier (0-2) pulled to within one, but McCarville struck back on both occasions.

McCarville will take on Fleury for the second time on Friday night. Croiser and Fleury tangle on Friday afternoon.
