McCarville suffers first loss at Road to the Roar

Krista McCarville is down, but far from out. The veteran skip dropped a 6-5 decision Wednesday night to former world champion Kelly Scott of British Columbia at the Olympic pre-trials in Kitchener, Ont.

The veteran skip dropped a 6-5 decision Wednesday night to former world champion Kelly Scott of British Columbia at the Olympic pre-trials in Kitchener, Ont.

Scott scored one in the 10th to earn the win and improve to 3-0. McCarville, who picked up a pair in the ninth to tie the game, but surrender the hammer, fell to 2-1.

Team McCarville, which includes Sarah Potts, Karie Lavoie and Ashleigh Miharija, will take on Val Sweeting’s rink on Thursday morning in the B-side bracket quarterfinal. The winner will then take on the winner of the Cathy Auld-Laura Crocker match.
