After leading the Lakehead Thunderwolves women's basketball team to their best season in over a decade, point guard Tasia McKenna and forward Lindsay Druery will team up again as they represent the OUA West Division at the OUA All-Star Game.

The game takes place in May at the Athletic Complex of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. The varsity basketball showcase will take place as part of the 2010 Ontario Basketball Association Ontario Cup.

Senior McKenna is back in familiar territory after playing in last year's inaugural event, also in Waterloo, while junior Druery's all-star season makes this the second straight year in which the 'Wolves have had two players on the West's 12-player roster.

Former Lakehead forward Kathryn Verboom played in the contest last season.

Head coach Jon Kreiner is pleased to see his student-athletes honoured for their strong seasons.

"I am very happy for Tasia and Lindsay's chance to play against their peers in the OUA All-Star Game," Kreiner said. "They have both worked very hard and had tremendous seasons for us this year.

"This is the second year for this event and I think it's a great way to showcase the best in the OUA to the young athletes still competing for their local clubs. Lakehead will be well represented with two great people in Tasia and Lindsay."
