Hammond scored a natural hat trick to pace the Wolves to a 4-1 road win over the Western Mustangs, completing the two-game sweep in the best-of-three series.

Nathan Bruyere iced with a third-period tally. Matt Marantz had the lone goal for Western, forced to play back-up and former Thunder Bay North Stars goalie Marc Nother in nets because of an injury to starter Greg Dodds sustained in Game 1.

The Wolves will open the second round at home, likely on Wednesday.
