It was labeled the OUA game of the week, but it turned into a one-sided affair in a hurry.

Stefan Salituro broke a 1-1 tied six seconds into the second period Saturday night, and the Western Mustangs cruised from there, skating to a 5-1 win over the visiting Lakehead Thunderwolves in OUA men's hockey play.

Thunder Bay’s Zach Harnden doubled the lead at the 6:45 mark of the second, while Kyle De Coste added a pair of third-period markers to seal the victory.

Luke Maw had the lone tally for the Thunderwolves (13-4-1), tying the game 1-1 at 5:47 of the first, less than four minutes after Western’s Daniel Erlich opened the scoring at 2:04.

Jeff Bosch only stopped 28 of 33 shots he faced in taking the loss. Josh Unice made 25 saves in the Mustangs net.

The Wolves return to Fort William Gardens next weekend when first-place Ryerson arrives in town.
