Mustangs trounce hockey Wolves

It was not the second-half start the Lakehead Thunderwolves were looking for. Yashar Farmanara scored twice on Friday night and added a pair of assists as the Western Mustangs (14-2-0) trounced their traditional hockey rivals 7-2 on home ice.

Newcomer Ryan McDonald led the way for the Wolves (11-3-2), collecting a goal and an assist. Mitch Maunu scored the other Lakehead goal.

Patrick Lee, Patrick Ouelette, Jason Furlong, Matt Piva and Kevin Baker were the other Mustangs goal scorers, who put seven of 46 shots past Lakehead goalie Kyle Moir.
The teams will try it again on Saturday night.
