NDC Thunder Bay athletes have changed things up a bit to start their summer.

For the past week they have been taking part in the Canadian Cross Country Ski Alignment Camp in Quebec, with members of the National team as well as from the other two training centres – AWCA from Canmore and CNEPH in Quebec City.

“It's cool to get to go head to head with the best skiers from across the country”, said Angus Foster, one of the NDC skiers.

They started in Montreal last weekend, where they completed a number of endurance and intensity tests at Premiere Performance, one of Canada’s top training centres.

Bob Thompson, another NDC skier commented “We really got to see where we all stack up, which is a great motivation tool … not only at this camp but for the rest of the training season.”

On Monday, they had the thrill of roller skiing on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the Formula One race course in Montreal.

After a drive to Mont Tremblant, they continued their training, alternating long endurance sessions with shorter, more intense workouts.

The team will continue to train in Quebec for the another week, then return home to take part in some training here.
