FORT FRANCES, Ont. – Ryan Mignault and Brendan Gillis had a goal and three assists apiece on Friday night to lead the Thunder Bay North Stars to a 9-0 thrashing of the Fort Frances Lakers.

The lopsided triumph was the third straight for the Superior International Junior Hockey League club, who climbed over .500 at 6-5-2.

Brad Thrower, Joe Newhouse, Zach Fortin, Dillon Ward and Avery Siau also scored for Thunder Bay, who got a 26-save shutout effort from goaltender Brandon Bodnar. It was Bodnars first whitewashing of the season, the fourth of his SIJHL career.

Thunder Bay takes on Minnesota on the road on Saturday and Sunday. They’ll return home next Friday and Saturday night to take on the No. 1-ranked Thief River Falls Norskies.
