A perfect start has garnered the Thunder Bay North Stars with national recognition.

The Superior International Junior Hockey League club is ranked No. 9 in the latest Canadian junior A hockey rankings after opening their campaign with a 3-0-0 mark for new head coach Jeremy Adduono.

The Minnesota Iron Rangers received honourable mention, the only other SIJHL team included in the rankings.

The Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League were sitting in the top spot.

North Stars forward Brandon Wolframe has been named the league's Pizza Hut player of the week for amassing eight points in the team's two games this past week.

The 19-year-old forward started things off with a goal and three assists in an 8-2 thrashing of the Minnesota Iron Rangers, and then picked up a pair of goals and two helpers in the North Stars 6-4 victory over the Wisconsin Wilderness.
