North Stars score late win over Ice Dogs

Trevor Hynnes and Zach Grzelewski scored third-period goals Friday night, leading the Thunder Bay North Stars to a 3-1 home-ice win over the Dryden Ice Dogs.

Trevor Hynnes and Zach Grzelewski scored third-period goals Friday night, leading the Thunder Bay North Stars to a 3-1 home-ice win over the Dryden Ice Dogs.

Dane Feeney opened the scoring on the power play for the visiting Ice Dogs, but it was all North Stars the rest of the way.

Brandon Wolframe knotted the score at one at 7:29 of the second. Hynnes gave the Stars the lead for good at 2:37 of the third, with Grzelewski, recently returned from a short stint with the OHL’s London Knights, providing insurance at 15:20.|

The Stars improved to 26-6-4, while Dryden dropped to 17-20-3.
