North Stars stay alive, doubling Dryden on the road

DRYDEN -- Kristopher Hamlin scored twice on Sunday to keep the Thunder Bay North Stars playoff hopes alive.

Brad Thrower added a goal and two assists as the visiting Stars doubled the Dryden Ice Dogs 4-2 in Game 6 of their Superior International Junior Hockey League semifinal.

The Ice Dogs, leading the set 3-2, can clinch the series on Tuesday night at Fort William Gardens.

Jared Fanti also scored for Thunder Bay, scoring the first goal of the contest midway through the second period.

Nathan Avery had both Dryden goals, scoring twice in the third.

Puck drop for Game 6 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
