The Thunder Bay North Stars have figured out how to win again.

It just took them nearly 54 minutes on Saturday night to get it down pat.

Quinn Remple scored with slightly more than six minutes to go, breaking a scoreless tie, as the Stars went on to a 2-0 win over the visiting Dryden Ice Dogs at Fort William Gardens. The win snapped a four-game slide for the Stars, in danger earlier this week of folding.

Mitch Forbes, who assisted on Remple’s goal, added an empty-netter to salt the game away, preserving the shutout for goalie Guillaume Piche.

The Stars (10-4-1) retook sole possession of top spot in the Superior International Junior Hockey League standings. Dryden fell to 8-10-0.

Ian Perrier, who stopped 18 shots, took the loss.
