North Stars win second straight on road, downing Iron Rangers 5-1

HOYT LAKES, Minn. – Brad Thrower scored twice and added an assist on Saturday night to lead the Thunder Bay North Stars to a 5-1 road win over the Minnesota Iron Rangers.

Nicholas Nigro, the Superior International Junior Hockey League’s leading point-getter, had a goal and an assist in the victory, Thunder Bay’s second straight.

Troy Sherman, whose shorthanded tally opened the scoring in the first, an Brett Wolframe also scored for the North Stars (7-2-1).

Cole Thompson had the lone goal for the host Iron Rangers (1-5-0).
