Northwest Narwhal host inaugural Allstate Long Course Spring Classic

The Northwest Narwhal Swim Club was host to their first Long Course swim meet on April 2nd and 3rd held at the C. J. Sanders Fieldhouse at Lakehead University.

The Northwest Narwhal Swim Club was host to their first Long Course swim meet on April 2nd and 3rd held at the C. J. Sanders Fieldhouse at Lakehead University. 

Attending was the Thunder Bay Thunderbolts, Superior Sea Lions, Dryden Dolphins, Fort Frances Aquanauts, Marathon Silver Pikes and the Cyclones Swim Club (Fort Frances.)  165 swimmers swam the pool in a 50 metre format over 3 sessions. The historic tank hasn’t been used in this format since the 1990’s however it showed that it is more than capable of the task at hand for the weekend which was fast, competitive swimming.

The club had 48 swimmers competing throughout the weekend ranging in age from 6 to 18.

The club a total 166 medal including 5 Gold and 7 Silver in the Relays.  The team set 30 new club records placing 2nd overall in the meet in team points.
