Just one current player from the program was taken, left-winger Jeff Leishman, who was grabbed by the London Knights in the 14th round, 280th overall.

Leishman, who stands 6-foot-2, had six assists in 17 games playing for the Kings in the North American Prospects Hockey League.

Northwestern Ontario did lay claim to another pair of other players chosen.

Longlac’s Tyler Tucker went to Barrie in the first round, while his twin brother Jesse was taken in the 12th round by Owen Sound.

Tyler Tucker, a defenceman, had six goals and 18 points playing for the Toronto Titans, while his brother Jesse, a centre, had nine goals and 23 points. Both are graduates of the Kings bantam program.

Mississauga defenceman Ryan Merkley went No. 1 overall to the Guelph Storm.
