Perozak, Gaudry in playoff hunt at Northern Ontario bantams

Despite a 9-6 loss to Emma Landry in her third match of the day on Friday, Thunder Bay’s Tiana Gaudry is still in the thick of the playoff hunt at the Northern Ontario Bantam Girl’s Curling Championship in Thessalon.

Despite a 9-6 loss to Emma Landry in her third match of the day on Friday, Thunder Bay’s Tiana Gaudry is still in the thick of the playoff hunt at the Northern Ontario Bantam Girl’s Curling Championship in Thessalon.

Gaudry thumped Erin Tomalty 10-0 in her opening game, then scored two points in the eighth to send her second match to extra ends, stealing one in the ninth to edge Syndie Stinson 7-6.

Gaudry is tied for second with Hayley Horton at 3-2, two wins behind leader Kira Brunton.

Brunton downed Cassidy Romyn 11-0,  Landry 7-2 and Stinson 6-5.

At the bantam boy’s provincial in Fort Frances, Kakabeka Falls’ Christopher Perozak finished Day 2 at 4-1, downing Thunder Bay’s Hudson Morash 11-4 in the morning draw, falling 8-1 to Christopher Silver’s rink and beating Michael Masters 9-5 in the nightcap.

Tanner Horgan, the Northern Ontario junior champion, leads the way at 5-0.

Morash slipped to 0-5, dropping all three of his Friday games.
