The Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens return home from south of the border with a Thanksgiving and Black Friday treat.
Thunder Bay notched a 2-0 win over the Shaftesbury Prep Titans of Winnipeg in the final to claim the title of the Minnesota Thoroughbreds Thanksgiving tournament in St. Paul on Sunday.
Jayde Turcotte blanked the Titans, turning aside 19 shots in the process.
Samantha Isbell had the game-winner for the Queens halfway through the first period, as she opened the scoring with a goal from Emily Oleksuk and Farrah Nicholl.
Michelle Carlson gave Thunder Bay a little extra cushion with a second period goal. Nicholl picked up her second helper of the contest on the goal.
The Queens had previously won the tournament in 2012.
