Rams score four straight at home to down Thunderwolves

LU takes a 2-1 lead in the second, but can't hang on against Ryerson

TORONTO – The Lakehead Thunderwolves took an early lead Thursday night on the Ryerson Rams, but were unable to hang on in the provincial capital.

Kelin Ainsworth scored shorthanded and Grant Valiquette added his first of the season on a power play to give LU a 2-1 lead in the second period, but the Rams scored four unanswered goals to close the contest out and went on to a 5-2 triumph.

John Carpino with a pair, Aaron Armstrong. Michael Fine and Marcus Hinds scored for the shorthanded Rams.

Ryerson out-shot Lakehead 39-24.

Devin Green took the loss in nets for the Wolves (1-2-0).

Lakehead’s road trip continues on Friday night when they take on Toronto in the first of two against the Varsity Blues.
