BOSTON – Doug Rivard is the top-finishing Thunder Bay runner at the 2017 Boston Marathon.
The 37-year-old was the first local to complete the 42-kilometre course, crossing the line with a net time of 3:08:16 on Monday.
That result placed Rivard 2,412th overall and 1,544th in the men’s 18-39 age group.
Julie Follis, 28, was the top local woman after posting a time of 3:28:58, good for 1,353 in the women’s race.
Edward Holbik was the second local finisher after completing the trek in 3:25:56.
Local Boston Marathon veteran Ryan McDonald was the next to cross, finishing the route with a net time of 3:33:04. The 43-year-old had been the top Thunder Bay runner at the prestigious event from 2011 to 2016.
Rick MacEachern was in at a net time of 3:35:11 followed by Rosslyn’s Betty Annala with a net time of 3:42:54 and Neebing’s Heidi McGee at 3:46:13.
Susan McDonald was next at 4:20:04 and Deborah Frederickson came in at 4:40:31.
