The Lakehead Thunderwolves men's basketball team are not having the same success as they did in their last trip to the nation's capital.

Lakehead dropped their second straight game at the House-Laughton Classic in Ottawa, falling to the Victoria Vikes by a score of 68-60.

Victoria, who made last year's CIS Final 8, was led by Terell Evans and his game-high 28 points. Evans shot 12-of-19 from the floor.

Anthony McIntosh was the leading scorer for Lakehead with 20 points, and forward Igor Lebov notched a double-double, finishing with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Lakehead interim head coach Matt Erdman, who had his first game action as the lead man, said the team is still struggling to get off to strong starts.

"We've started the first and third quarters with no real sense of urgency and dug ourselves into a hole because we lack experience and we don't know how to get out of it," Erdman said in a release.

"We still haven't followed the game plan for 40 minutes."

The Thunderwolves had previously dropped their tournament opener to the Carleton Raves on Friday in a rematch of last year's national championship game.

Lakehead will look to pick up their first win of the weekend as they close out the tournament with a Sunday afternoon contest against Bishops. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
