For now the veteran forward will relish his role in bringing the Stanley Cup to Chicago for the first time in 49 years.

Sharp, who could be dealt to help ease the Blackhawks salary-cap strain, played an integral role in Chicago’s march to the Cup, including an assist on the Game 6 OT winner over Philadelphia last Wednesday.

The 28-year-old is getting married this summer and told the Chicago Tribune he will definitely be bringing the cherished chalice home this summer.

"I’m going to bring the Cup back to Thunder Bay," he said. "I’m proud to do it. I just hope they spell my name wrong when they put my name on the Cup. Sorry, spell it right."

He added he’s surprised the Cup has stayed in one piece since the Hawks won.

"Every time you grab it you hang onto it pretty tight," he told the paper. "I don’t want to be the first guy to drop it, so it’s not going to be me."
