SIJHL: North Stars clip Miners in OT

THUNDER BAY -- Brett Wolframe started the Thunder Bay North Stars offensive ball rolling. Brother Brandon ended it in style, netting the overtime winner to hand the host Stars a 6-5 win over the second-year English River Miners.

Brother Brandon ended it in style, netting the overtime winner to hand the host Stars a 6-5 win over the second-year English River Miners.

The deciding goal was the third of the contest for Brandon Wolframe after scoring a pair of goals in the third to erase a 4-2 Miners lead.
Daniel McKitrick and Matthias Gardiman, who sent the game to overtime with a late third-period goal with 4:16 to go in regulation, also scored for the North Stars (2-3-1).

Eric Champagne, Alex Maticic, Leo Lightning each had singles for English River. Hayden Hickey notched a pair of goals, including the go-ahead marker midway through the third.

Jessie Fontaine took the loss in net for the winless Miners (0-4-1), while Nathaniel Dupuis made 23 saves to earn the win.
