SIJHL suspends Spicer for high hit to head

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham announced Thursday the following player suspension for his actions in SIJHL Game No.

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham announced Thursday the following player suspension for his actions in SIJHL Game No. 21, Minnesota Iron Rangers at Fort Frances Lakers, at Ice for Kids Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 14:

Colton Spicer, Fort Frances Lakers forward --  three games.

In the opening minute of the third period, Spicer delivered a high hit to the head of a Minnesota player.

Although no penalty was assessed on the play, following a video incident review, Spicer is suspended three games under Supplementary Discipline.

This suspension will be served during the following games:

  • SIJHL Game No. 22 - Thursday, Oct. 16 at Minnesota
  • SIJHL Game No. 26 - Saturday, Oct. 18 vs. English River
  • SIJHL Game No. 27 - Tuesday, Oct. 21 vs. Dryden
