Sportop Queens off to Brampton for 2 Nations College Prep play

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Thunder Bay Sportop midget AA Queens will be in southern Ontario this weekend to take part in the second round of 2 Nations College Prep Series in Brampton, Ont.

Two games await Thunder Bay Friday starting with a 9:15 a.m. match-up against Team Illinois.

That will be followed by a 9:15 p.m. contest with the Peterborough Ice Kats.

Saturday’s slate has the Queens meeting the Chicago Young Americans at 12:15 p.m. before wrapping up the round robin at 6:30 p.m. as they take on the Cambridge Roadrunners.

They will then conclude competition Sunday against a yet to be determined opponent.

Thunder Bay went 4-1-0 in five games during the opening round of 2 Nations College Prep Series play back in late October in Detroit, Mich.

Meanwhile the Tim Hortons bantam A and the peewee Queens will be hosting the Lake of the Woods Canucks from Kenora for multiple games at Fort William First Nation Arena.

The bantams play at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday as well as 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Peewee action sees Thunder Bay and Kenora squaring off at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
