Tan's 22 leads Thunderwolves to easy win

Beat the teams below them in the standings and the Lakehead Thunderwolves are an OUA men’s basketball playoff lock.

Beat the teams below them in the standings and the Lakehead Thunderwolves are an OUA men’s basketball playoff lock.

They took that message to heart on Saturday night, thrashing the home-town Brock Badgers 99-57 to take another step closer to the postseason after securing the weekend sweep.

Henry Tan, who had 23 points on Friday, added 22 more on Saturday to lead LU to the lopsided win. Igor Lebov had 17 points and nine rebounds, while Dwayne Harvey (13) and reserve Joey Nitychoruk (12) each hit double figures.

Brent Wallace and Andrew McCarthy, Lakehead’s twin towers, each had three blocked shots.

The Wolves, by virtue of a 31-6 second-quarter, led 57-23 at the half.

Tshing Kasamba had a dozen to top all Badgers scorers.

Lakehead (6-10) hosts first place McMaster (13-3) next weekend at the Thunderdome.
