Thunder Bay Chill begin road trip with a win

ST. LOUIS -- The Thunder Bay Chill began a critical five-game road trip on the right foot. The Premier Development League club got a pair of goals on Saturday night from midfielder Anthony Putrus and went on to down the host St. Louis Lions 4-0.

The Premier Development League club got a pair of goals on Saturday night from midfielder Anthony Putrus and went on to down the host St. Louis Lions 4-0.

Ross Lindsay and Thunder Bay’s Nic Chiappetta also scored for the Chill, who closed to within six points of second-place Chicago, with three games in hand.

The Chill improved to 5-2-1 with three games in hand on Chicago sits at 7-3-1.

Thunder Bay and Chicago meet twice on the Chill’s current road trip, which also includes tilts against expansion Kokomo and Des

Moines, the Heartland Division leader that knocked off Kokomo 2-0 on Saturday night.
