Thunder Bay’s Graeme McCormack has signed an amateur tryout deal with the American Hockey League’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
The 24-year-old former SIJHLer spent the past four seasons with Bemidji State, scoring six goals and 22 points in 38 games in 2015-18.
McCormack, a 6-foot-1, 199-pound defenceman, spent two seasons with the Thunder Bay Bearcats from 2007 to 2009 before spending his final three junior seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League.
McCormack was named to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s all-academic team this past season.
The Tigers are the top farm team of the NHL’s New York Islanders.
