THUNDER BAY - The Lakehead University men's basketball team is rounding out their roster ahead of the 2019-20 season.

On Monday, they announced the signing of Laoui Msambya, a 6'0 guard from Quebec City, Q.C.

The basketball recruiting website North Pole Hoops has Msambya as the 59th highest ranked Canadian in the 2019 class.

"The dynamic of the recruitment meant a lot to me and the way he wanted to make me a valuable part of the team," Msambya said via press release. "He didn’t see me as just another number or player."

Msambya played basketball for Thetford Academy last season, a highly regarded prep school in Thetford Mines, Q.C.

With the addition of Msambya, Thomson has recruited five players as a part of his 2019-20 recruiting class.

Six-foot-eight guard Jabari Barrett from Brampton, Ont. was added to the roster in late July.
