Thunderwolves knock off Vikings

Ryan Thomson has the Lakehead Thunderwolves back to their winning ways. The LU forward on Wednesday dropped 19 points on the University of Victoria Vikings, including five three-pointers, as the Thunderwolves downed their west-coast hosts 80-71.

Rookie Joe Hart had 15 points in the win, while Ben Johnson and Matt Schmidt each posted a dozen points.

Thomson also had seven rebounds and two assists for Lakehead, who won despite Yoosrie Salhia not making the trip for class-related reasons.

Michael Acheampong led the Vikes with 18 points.

Lakehead heads to the mainland on Thursday for a date with the University of Northern British Columbia in Abbotsford, B.C.
