The OUA hockey team on Monday announced former Drummondville Voltigeurs defenceman Andrew Tessier has agreed to join the Wolves.
Tessier, who had three assists in 41 games last season, spent 2011-12 with the Kingston Frontenacs, where he was a teammate of fellow Thunderwolves recruit Cody Alcock.

“At Lakehead University, I feel like I can discover different new aspects of life without sacrificing my love for hockey.  And from my discussions with coach (Bill) McDonald, it's evident that the Thunderwolves want to be a tight-knit, hardworking and dedicated group of men.  I look forward to contributing whatever I can to this program,” the Elliot Lake native said in a release.

McDonald likes what Tessier brings to the team.

“Andrew is a solid, right-handed defenceman who will add more depth to our blue-line,” McDonald said.  “He’s young, willing to learn, and has a great attitude.  That’s the type of player I want.”
