WHITEHORSE, YUKON -- Lakehead's Nordic Skiing teams are once again atop the ranks of Canadian university skiers, as both the women and men's teams were awarded the Canadian College and University Nordic Championships titles on Thursday. The results were made official following Days 4 and 5 of races earlier this week.

Thunderwolf Katherine Stewart Jones, of Chelsea, Quebec, proved unbeatable across all disciplines, winning all four of her races and earning bragging rights as the overall individual champion. Lakehead's Scott Hill, of Toronto, won three of his four races and took bronze in the freestyle 1.2-kilometre sprint to be declared the overall champ on the men's side.

The victory makes it five consecutive CCUNC titles for the women's team, while the men's streak of national banners stands at two.

Bryana van Leeuwen, of Ottawa, placed 13th overall in the field of 20 CCUNC skiers. Rounding out the men's standings were Gavin Shields in fourth place Geoff Way-Nee 13th and Hayden Gorman 22nd.
