In fact, after dropping an 82-58 decision Friday night to the host Guelph Gryphons, the Wolves are on the outside looking in.
Kelsey Bardsley had 17 points coming off the bench for Lakehead (6-10), who dropped their third straight and sixth in their last seven outings.

Carolyn Fragale, with 12, was the only other Thunderwolves player in double figures. Lakehead led 23-19 after one quarter, but were out-scored 19-8 in the second and trailed by seven at the half. Guelph won the fourth quarter 23-8.

Kayla Goodhoofd led the Gryphons (6-10) with 19.

Guelph and Thunder Bay are tied for the sixth and final OUA West playoff spot, but the Gryphons win Friday gives them the tiebreaker edge.
