THUNDER BAY -- The Thunderwolves women's volleyball team is off to Brandon to compete in games against the Winnipeg Wesmen and the Brandon Bobcats during Brandon's Homecoming weekend.

With the return from the Brock Thanksgiving Classic where Lakehead went 2-2, the focus is now on Canada West teams in preparation for the upcoming season.

Winnipeg and Brandon are both strong, experienced teams with a rich history of competitive environments.

Both teams are coached by prominent and successful coaches and both look to be in the playoff hunt in Canada West this year.

"We get to challenge our game with the physical presence that both teams have. We will look to tighten up our passing game and transfer that into a more consistent offense," said coach Chris Green

Lakehead will look to see Leah Mousseau continue to be a force on the offense along with Freshman Meghan Routier.

Converted leftside Rheanna Geisel has proven to be successful thus far switching from Middle.

"We look forward to the study time, the training, team bonding and the competition on this trip," Green said.

The team is scheduled to play Brandon University at 3 p.m. on Friday and Winnipeg Wesmen at noon on Saturday.
