It was the Jayde Turcotte show for the Thunder Bay Queens this weekend.

The Sportop midget AA Queens netminder only surrendered one goal in nine periods of play, backstopping the Queens to a three-game sweep of the visiting Shattuck-St Mary’s Sabres.

The Queens opened the series with back-to-back 4-0 wins over the under-19 Minnesota prep team on Saturday.

Kaley Tienhaara, Bronwyn Bolduc, Samantha Strassburger and Paige Sullivan all scored for Thunder Bay in the opening contest at the Fort William First Nation Arena.

Tienhaara added two more in the second game and Emily Oleksuk recorded a three point contest.

The Sabres finally solved Turcotte in the second period of the third game, with former Queen Brooke Boquist finding the back of the net.

Thunder Bay scored three unanswered markers with Strassburger connecting on the game winner en route to the 3-1 decision on Sunday.
