THUNDER BAY -- Fourteen athletes from Ultimate Gymnastics are heading south this weekend to represent the club for the first time ever in the United States.

The 2015 Gopher Invite, hosted by Maple Plain, Minn.- based North Shore Gymnastics, will be held Jan. 9 through Jan. 11 at the Minneapolis Sports Center and will feature more than 1,300 athletes from many clubs in the United States, and Ultimate Gymnastics, the lone Canadian entry.

“It is a very exciting time for our gymnastics club to have the opportunity to showcase our talented athletes internationally” said Ultimate Gymnastics co-owner Greg Balec.

“For some of our girls this is not only their first competition outside of Ontario, but their first time competing anywhere.”
