Ultimate Gymnastics mines large medal haul at qualifier

Ultimate Gymnastics Provincial Women’s Artistic Gymnastics squad returned home from their final qualifier in Ottawa this past weekend with an amazing haul of 19 medals.

Ultimate Gymnastics Provincial Women’s Artistic Gymnastics squad returned home from their final qualifier in Ottawa this past weekend with an amazing haul of 19 medals.

Leading the way with 5 medals each were Aimee-Leigh Balec, Cassandra Boyer and Christiana Collins.

Balec (Level 9 - Age 15+), earned herself Bronze Medals on all four events (Vault/Uneven Bars/Balance Beam/Floor) as well as in the All-Around, while Boyer (Level 8 - Age 16+) grabbed a Gold Medal for Floor alongside 2 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals. Collins (Level 9 – Age 12) nabbed herself 2 Gold Medals for Vault and Balance Beam while adding 3 Silver Medals to her tally including All-Around.

Katerina Hamar (Level 9 – Age 12) took home the Gold Medal for Floor while also pulling in Bronze Medals for Vault and Uneven Bars.

Adding to the bling were Emily Ukrainec (Level 8 – Age 12) who earned a Silver Medal for Vault and Julie Bica (Level 7 – Age 14) taking 4th Place on Floor.

With the qualifying season winding down four of the girls will move on to the Ontario Gymnastics Championships in Mississauga in April.
