Volleyball squad's playoff dreams quashed

There was no upset to be had by Lakehead in their first trip to the OUA women’s playoff since 2006. The Thunderwolves were handily swept on Saturday by the fourth-ranked York Lions, ending their hopes of a post-season run in a hurry.

The Thunderwolves were handily swept on Saturday by the fourth-ranked York Lions, ending their hopes of a post-season run in a hurry.

York took the first set 25-14, the second 25-18 and capped off their victory with another 25-14 set. Jorie Daymond had eight kills and Vanessa Chorkaway seven for the Wolves, who finished the regular season 9-9.
