SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. – An undefeated week has ended in disappointing fashion for the Zach Warkentin rink.

Idylwylde’s Tanner Horgan scored three in an extra end to down Warkentin 9-6 in the final of the Northern Ontario junior men’s curling playdowns on Tuesday afternoon.

Trailing 6-4 heading into the tenth, Warkentin was able to score a deuce to give himself a brief lease on life before falling short.

Warkentin had previously run the table, going 7-0 in the round robin.

Horgan advances to nationals, which kick off on Jan. 24 in Corner Brook, N.L.
