OTTAWA – When you live by the three, sometimes you die by the three.
This seemed to be the case on Friday night, when the Lakehead Thunderwolves made just two of 18 attempts from beyond the arc, falling 69-45 in the nation’s capital to the Ottawa Gee-Gees.
Rachel Webber had 10 for Lakehead, who slipped to 4-8 with the loss.
The Wolves also had trouble controlling the offensive glass, out-rebounded for second chances 19-9 by Ottawa, who improved to 8-3.
Ariane Lefebvre had 13 points for the Gee-Gees, who made eight three-pointers on the night. Things don’t get any easier for Lakehead. They take on No. 4 Carleton (8-1) on Saturday night.
