Jylisa Williams’ double double-double landed the Lakehead Thunderwolves in the OUA women’s basketball playoffs.

The Atlanta import scored 21 points and hauled in 21 rebounds Saturday night, leading visiting Lakehead to a 74-47 win over the No. 9 Laurier Golden Hawks.

Rookie Essa Jacobsen chipped in 16 points and fifth-year senior Ayse Kalkan scored 14 for the victorious Wolves, who led 32-13 at the half.

Laura Doyle paced the Laurier attack with 13 points.

The win, combined with Brocks win over Guelph (7-13) earlier in the day, clinched a playoff spot for LU, who improved to 10-10.

Mathematically Lakehead is still in contention to host a first-round playoff match.

McMaster and Brock, in fourth and fifth place respectively, sit at 11-9 with two games to go.
