Jylisa Williams knows how to put on a show.

The fifth-year guard set a new career high, scoring 50 points Friday night to lead the Lakehead Thunderwolves to an 86-69 win over the host University of Toronto Varsity Blues. Her total also set a new OUA single-game standard, eclipsing the 49 put up by Brock's Candi Lohr more than three decades ago, in 1982-83.

"I can't start without saying what an amazing performance by Jylisa Williams," coach Jon Kreiner said in a release. "She jsut keeps getting better at the right time of year. (Corina) Bruni is also picking her game up, with back-to-back terrific performances. Toronto was very tough today."

Williams had eight rebounds, five assists and five steals in 34 minutes of play.

Corina Bruni was the only other Lakehead player in double digits, firing up an even 10 points. Katie Ulakovic finished with eight.

Williams had 26 at the half for the Wolves, who improved to 12-3, winning their eighth straight since the holiday break. It was her third time surpassing 40 points this season.

Lakehead takes on No. 7 Ryerson on Saturday night.
