The Wisconsin Wilderness are on the move.

The defending SIJHL champions are headed out of Spooner, Wis. and into Cloquet, Minn., becoming the third Minnesota-based team in the league.

The Wilderness has played two seasons in the SIJHL, winning the playoff championship both years. They will play out of the Northwood Credit Union Arena.

According to Northland Sports Online, the move was precipitated by the pending sale and/or closure of the Spooner Arena.
“With the rich tradition of hockey in Cloquet, it seemed like a natural fit.” Adoff told the website.

“We started working with Mike Acheson and the Cloquet Hockey Association and it all came together well.”
