A familiar face is returning to the Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team’s coaching staff.

The team on Thursday announced Dan Bissonnette will join coach Bill McDonald’s crew, his third coaching stint with the Wolves.
Bissonnette also worked under former Lakehead coaches Pete Belliveau and Joel Scherban, leaving most recently to coach the AAA Midget Kings.

A former centre who played with the Lakehead Nor’Westers from 1982 to 1984, he’s worked with McDonald in the past.

“He was my assistant with the Thunder Bay Senators team that won the Colonial League championship in 1993-1994,” McDonald said in a release issued by the team.

“He’s very accountable and has a good knowledge of the university athlete.  Most of all he brings a passion for the game, and I'm excited to have Dan working alongside myself and Malcolm Sutherland.”
