Ainsworth, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward, spent one season in the NCAA, following a pair of campaigns with the North American Hockey League’s Traverse City North Stars.

He’ll be eligible to play immediately and does not have to sit out a mandatory year, so is expected in th team’s line-up in October.
Ainworth had 26 goals and 47 points in 53 games in his final season in Traverse City.

“I’m excited; it’s going to be fun playing in front of the big crowds at the Fort William Gardens,” the 21-year-old said in a release issued on Friday.

“I used to go to the Wolves games when I was a kid, and I loved watching them play.  Now I get to be one of them.”
