Thunder Bay, Ont. -- The women's volleyball team (0-3) seek their first win of the OUA regular season this weekend, as they host the Guelph Gryphons, Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm in the Thunderdome.

The Gryphons come to town after 2 road wins last weekend, including a 5 set game vs Windsor. They are led by the OUA 2014 rookie of the year, Maddison Dedecker. She brings a big load on the outside as a go-to hitter and is considered among the best leftsides in OUA.

"Our challenge will be to find ways to control her," says coach Chris Green. "They also sport a solid defense, lending itself to a weekend of action packed rallies."

Lakehead stacks up fairly evenly against Guelph across the board. The 'Wolves have had a different leader in each game, which begs the question, 'Who will show up on Saturday?'.

Fourth year Jen Casey has taken steps in establishing herself as  go-to hitter for the 'Wolves, amassing 21 kills in her last game against McMaster.

"We will have to serve tough and try to make Guelph feel uncomfortable passing in this gym," continues Green. "That will not be easy as they have a very skilled team. Making them predictable will be vital, then we have to execute against that predictability."

"Guelph is a dynamic team, so our tactics will have to be on point this weekend."

Weekend Schedule vs Guelph Gryphons

Saturday, Nov 8

Sunday, Nov 9
