THUNDER BAY – Katelyn Zen led the Lakehead Thunderwolves to a weekend non-conference sweep of the Manitoba Bisons, scoring 17 points to lead her side to victory.

Zen was one of four Thunderwolves players to hit double digits in the 66-57 triumph, one of two starters. Bridget O`Reilly scored 11 points, hitting three three-pointers. Off the bench, Rachel Webber collected 12 points and rookie Daron Mainville added 11 to pace the Lakehead offence.

"We have shown both nights that we are consistently nine points better than Manitoba,” LU coach Jon Kreiner said in a release. “It was a tough battle and felt almost league-like.”

Manitoba (1-5) was led by Nicole Konieczny`s 20-point performance.

Lakehead travels to Edmonton next weekend for a pre-season tournament.
