The Superior International Junior Hockey League has announced that Tuesday’s scheduled game (October 13) between the English River Miners and Fort Frances Lakers at Ice for Kids Arena has been postponed due to transportation issues.

It’s been a rough start for the Thunder Bay North Stars, but they got a little encouragement on home ice on Friday night.

The Winnipeg Wesman erased a first-quarter deficit Friday, but had to hang on in the fourth to hand the Lakehead Thunderwolves a second straight pre-season defeat.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves overcame a slow start, and buoyed by a double-double by Bacarius Dinkins, went on to rout the visiting Algoma Thunderbirds on Friday night.
